NACAC Bird Mailer

A Standout Welcome for College Counselors

When Johns Hopkins University hosted the National Association of College Admission Counseling’s Annual Conference (NACAC), they wanted to give college counselors from across the country something fun, memorable, and uniquely Baltimore. Our job was to create a print piece that would stand out from the usual brochures while highlighting both Johns Hopkins and the city.

Conference Giveaway Takes Flight

Inspired by vintage paper dolls, we designed an interactive, articulated Blue Jay—the university’s mascot—whose colorful feathers fanned out to reveal things to see and do around Baltimore. It was a playful, unexpected way to welcome visitors and give them a taste of the city. The piece was a hit, earning rave reviews from conference attendees and even taking home a Gold Addy Award.
