200th Anniversary of Railroad History
All Aboard!
In 2027, the B&O Railroad Museum is kicking off a nationwide celebration—the bicentennial of railroading in America. Appropriately so, this celebration starts in Baltimore, home of the B&O AKA the oldest railroad in the United States. They’ve been there since day one, as the advent of rail transformed culture, society, commerce, and more. Mission helped develop an identity that paid tribute to the B&O and could support storytelling from every station, junction, and railcar.

Full Steam Ahead!
The main celebration logo is inspired by railway roundhouses, locomotive driving wheels, train tracks, and iconic American symbols. It’s also a nod to the B&O Railroad Museum’s spectacular roundhouse building. This celebration is about looking back at 200 years of railroading history, but it’s also about looking forward. That’s why we created a logo that evokes the past while also conveying optimism for what’s next.
